Farm animals have always been an important part of Simon Field Farm with sheep, chickens, ducks, goats and ponies.  More recently, with aims to conserve and safeguard dwindling numbers of certain native farm animals, due to changing farming methods between 1900 and 1973 where farming became more intensive in its approach to food production, many UK native breeds were no longer considered economically viable.

Two Lincolnshire breeds became extinct, the Lincolnshire Buff chicken and the robust outdoor living pig, the Lincolnshire Curly Coat, quite unlike any other British breed , the Curly Coat sadly met its demise when the last ones were sent to slaughter in 1972. Our passion, is to introduce native livestock  to the farm for visitors to see and interact with.

As members of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust we are dedicating part of our farm to contribute towards safeguarding some of the remaining "at risk" breeds such as Boreray sheep, Golden Guernsey goats and many other breeds of native farm animals that we can introduce to our breeding programme sourced from around the UK.

For many, it has always been a childhood dream to canter along a sandy beach with the wind on your face and the sun shining on your back.

It truly is the most amazing feeling!

The coastline offers miles of sand dunes and beaches that you can enjoy with your own horse, many of which you can access all year round.

For some horse owners, there is no chance of a holiday as you have no one to look after your horse whilst you are away.

Simon Field Farm offers you the opportunity to fulfil your dreams.

Individual paddocks with water. Rider pack with info and maps etc of best places to ride, green lanes and avoiding populated beaches

HORSE OWNER HOLIDAYS

Been coming to Anderby for years. Graham and Gill always make us welcome. There are about 10 or 12 of us. We bring our horse's for a long weekend, we go onto the beach with the horse's  and we have so much fun! We always visit Marsh Yard as there is horsebox parking, toilets and a gentle ramp up onto the beach away from the families on the busier Anderby beach

We also go to the Axe & Cleaver for a meal , the high light of the night is when the pub's courtesy transport, a fire engine turns up to take us to the pub!  brilliant !

Ok here goes, what can I say, been staying with you quite a number of years now and every year gets better, I really look forward to my annual beach holiday with my horse and he enjoys it as well. It doesn't matter how many or how few, turn up on your doorstep, you make us and the horses very very welcome and nothing is to much trouble for you, we are always so lucky with the weather, didn't wear a coat last October, it was great. Always look forward to staying with you and hope we are provisionally booked for this year, lol, because I can assure you we are coming xx

Hi, Just to say we had a great time with my friends staying at the farm with the horses with great rides on sandy beaches.

Great place to relax and enjoy the horses. Most helpful. Highly Recommended. Just love the relaxed friendly atmosphere.
